Sasuke and Itachi’s fight is the logical conclusion to a path that began in the first episodes of the first season of the anime. Hate, loneliness, grief over the loss of loved ones, and the horror of the night Itachi destroyed the Uchiha clan paved the way for Sasuke to gain the strength he needed only to surpass his brother and take his life. For the sake of revenge, Sasuke left his friends behind, for the sake of it he trusted the man who planned to use him and kill him, and for the sake of it he left his home village, giving viewers a dramatic conclusion to the main plot of the Naruto series. The conclusion of revenge came in its sequel, Naruto Shippuden.
Who Will Win – Sasuke or Itachi?
It begins in episode 134, in which Sasuke receives a personal invitation from Itachi, who sends his brother to the Uchiha clan’s estate. The fateful meeting between the brothers takes place in the next, series 135, and immediately spills over into a confrontation. Itachi uses his trademark eye technique and catches Sasuke in genjutsu, giving the viewer the experience of being immersed in a shaky illusory reality in which he reveals one of the secrets of Uchiha’s eyes and tortures his brother with a vision of ripping out his eyes.
But, thanks to the cursed seal, Sasuke has the strength to break free of the illusion, and the fight moves into the physical confrontation phase. Sasuke and Sasuke’s attempts to fight Sasuke with the help of the cursed seal are combined into one of the last fights of the Naruto series, where simple, basic moves come into play: a spectacular shuriken-throwing confrontation, Itachi being stabbed in the hip and the brothers’ Fireball technique colliding – this is the end of the first half of the fight. In it, Itachi is also revealed to be ill.
But the stakes are raised, and Amaterasu comes in, a black flame that burns everything, and Itachi’s eye bleeds . The profusion of flames forms clouds, causing a thunderstorm and allowing Sasuke to unleash Kirin, woven of lightning, on his brother. Sasuke grows weak, and Orochimaru bursts from the cursed seal, which Itachi seals with the help of Susanoo, who saved him. Itachi approaches the exhausted Sasuke, reaching for his eyes… But only pokes his brother in the forehead. And drops dead. Episode 138 Itachi is dead.
