Naruto reiterates that Jiraiya would not approve of Paine’s ideas about a way to achieve universal peace. To this, the Way of the Devas states that he considers Naruto and Jiraiya to be fools. He also sees their deaths as a step toward creating the only possible world. When Shima tried to cheer Naruto up, the Way of the Daeva threw her back. Before the Way of the Daeva could take Naruto, Hinata attacked him. Naruto urged her to run, as she had no chance of winning. Hinata was aware of this, but said that even though she couldn’t help, she wanted to protect him now, after all these years of watching him and wanting to be there for him. She confesses her love to Naruto. Before Naruto could realize these words, Hinata rushed into the Daeva Way, but was quickly defeated and probably killed. Enraged by the “murder” committed in front of his eyes, Naruto broke free of his shackles and took the form of six tails.
