Kakashi meets his father, Sakumo, who was waiting for him after his death. Sakumo asks Kakashi to tell him about his life. Meanwhile, Naruto and Fukasaku try to merge in order for Naruto to use the Sage Mode in battle, but Nine-Tail consistently opposes the merger. In the Village of the Hidden Leaf, Shizune tells Inoichi that the Paynes’ body piercings are black receivers. The New Way of the Beast attacks their location. Inoichi recognizes this body as the dead girl he saw in the memories of the prisoner from Hidden Rain. He and Shizune retreat to deal with the situation, leaving the battle with the Way of the Beast to the others.
