Asuma collapses to the ground while his team watches helplessly. Kakuzu prepares to finish off Izumo and Kotetsu, but is stopped by Aoba Yamashiro and Raido Namyashi. Chouji takes Asuma to safety while Ino examines Shikamaru. Shikamaru immediately heads towards Asuma and, finding that he is still alive, commands Ino to provide emergency first aid. Kakuzu, hoping to get a bounty on Asuma’s head, tried to bring him back, but was interrupted by a call from the Akatsuki leader.
