Shikamaru discusses with Tsunade that each team should have a Ninja Medic. She agrees, but says that it’s very difficult to train a Ninja Medic. Shikamaru goes to visit Naruto in the hospital and receives confirmation that Sasuke will not return to Konoha. Sakura overhears this, but pretends not to hear it, entering the room to see how Naruto is doing. Naruto apologizes for failing, but she avoids the subject. He insists, saying that he will fulfill his promise to bring Sasuke home one day. Seeing how much Naruto has gone through, Sakura leaves, telling him that next time he won’t have to make that promise himself. Sakura goes to Tsunade and asks to take her as a student. Tsunade agrees.
