Kakashi checks Zabuza’s pulse and, unable to detect it, concludes that the masked boy killed him. Assuming the boy is a Hidden Mist Village ninja hunter, Kakashi lets him do what needs to be done, telling Team 7 that this is the job of ninja hunters: to hunt down and eliminate renegade ninja like Zabuza. Naruto is angry at how easily someone so young could kill someone as dangerous as Zabuza. Kakashi tells him that this is something he will have to get used to. Haku takes Zabuza’s body with him, whereupon Kakashi instantly falls to the ground. Exhaustion caused by overuse of the Sharingan has taken its toll. Afterwards, Kakashi was taken to Tazuna’s house for recuperation. At the same time, the boy revives Zabuza, as he only pretended to kill him in order to protect him from Kakashi.
