Concerned about Naruto’s condition, Shizune takes the boy to an inn. When Tsunade returns from the liquor store, Shizune meets her and brings her to the boy. According to Tsunade, he is severely exhausted and will sleep for another day. Shizune tries to dissuade her mentor from accepting Orochimaru’s proposal. Furious at her mentee’s words, Tsunade lashes out at her and leaves her unconscious in her room.
The next morning Naruto wakes up Shizune, and she immediately tries to figure out what day it is. She’s about to jump out the window, but is stopped by a kunai plunged into the wall nearby. On cotton legs Jiraiya walks toward the heroes, explaining that last night Tsunade poisoned him, which now makes him very weak. He demands to know the truth about his meeting with Orochimaru. Shizune decides to share this information and they all go to the meeting place together.
Meanwhile, Orochimaru and Tsunade meet at the ruins of the castle. Tsunade agrees to cure Orochimaru’s hands, but on the condition that he does not destroy Konoha. Orochimaru agrees. Tsunade, happy that she will soon meet her loved ones, heads for Orochimaru.
