Naruto and Jiraiya see people running away from the castle. One of them shouts for everyone to save themselves, as there is a monster inside, namely a huge snake. Jiraiya realizes that this may be the same snake that participated in the attack on Konoha, so he hurries deep into the ruins.
Meanwhile, Shizune, shocked by Orochimaru’s words, tries to reason with her mentor to not accept Orochimaru’s proposal under any circumstances. However, the latter orders her assistant to shut up. Kabuto gives Tsunade a week to reconsider and adds that if she accepts, two sacrifices will be required for resurrection, which she will have to provide. Enraged by this demand, Shizune insists that the two of them can defeat their opponents. To prevent Tsunade from even thinking about doing this, Orochimaru bites his hand to make it bleed, causing the woman to freeze – she is afraid of blood. Orochimaru and Kabuto leave, saying goodbye that they are very much waiting for Tsunade’s answer.
When Jiraiya and Naruto arrive at the scene, no one is there. That evening they decide to have dinner at a bar, where they bump into Tsunade, who has already had quite a few drinks. They sit down at the same table and start a conversation. Tsunade wouldn’t share the details of her meeting with Orochimaru with her old comrade, and Jiraiya immediately laid out her proposal to become the Fifth Hokage.
