The exhausted Naruto and Gaara fall to the ground. At this point, the sandy arm that has been holding Sakura all this time crumbles and the girl should have fallen down, but she is intercepted by Sasuke. At the same time Temari finds Kankuro bereft of strength. Gaara asks why Naruto is so strong, and becomes afraid as he crawls towards him, thinking that he will finish him off. However, Naruto is perfectly aware of what Gaara has been through and tells him that he himself could have become like Gaara if he hadn’t found friends. Accordingly, if Gaara harms them, Naruto will have no choice but to kill him. Sasuke comes down to Naruto to inform him that Sakura is safe, and his brother and sister come for Gaara. They pick him up and leave. After realizing that Naruto draws strength from fighting for others, Gaara begins to question his “think only of himself” concept, so he apologizes to his family, shocking them.
The Third Hokage’s breathless body falls to the ground, but there is still a smile on his face. This pisses Orochimaru off and he hysterically asks why he is laughing. Enma pulls Kusanagi’s sword from the corpse and disappears. Orochimaru can’t use his hands, so he orders the Four of Sound to remove the barrier and retreat. The Anbu members try to stop them, but one of the Four catches them in a web and cuts off the pursuit. Meanwhile, one of the surrounded ninja in the arena turns out to be Kabuto, and he and his comrades-in-arms leave the battlefield. The ninja of Konoha gather around the body of the Third Hokage.
