Naruto manages to wake Gaara up, and Shukaku begins to return back to his jinchuuriki, transferring control of his body to him. However, Gaara is not happy with this outcome, so he catches Naruto in the sand and is about to crush him. But the timely reacted Gamabunta manages to cover the boy with his tongue, but not from below, and as Naruto continued to stand on the sand, he begins to be enveloped from below. Meanwhile, Naruto and Gamabunta have very little chakra left. Determined to protect those he cares about, Naruto appeals for the chakra of the Nine-Tailed Fox. He fills himself with his power and pounces on Gaara. He tries to stop him by catching him with sand, but Naruto continues to reach for Gaara and hits him in the forehead with his forehead, whereupon Shukaku begins to crumble.
